About Click's Nursery

Our History

Kenny Click started working at “Dunn’s Nursery” in Fayetteville, NC while still in high school.  His interests in school included his involvement in the Future Farmers of America organization under the direction of Mr. Ken McKeithan at Seventy First High School.  Kenny worked for different garden centers around Fayetteville to include Dunn’s Nursery, Hoe and Grow, and finally Owen’s Garden Center.  He started his own landscaping company in early 1984 which led to him to opening the first garden center in 1985 in Raeford.

Kenny and his mother, Maxine Click, started Click’s Nursery and Garden Center in Raeford, North Carolina in 1985.  It was a humble beginning converting an old shack into the first store.  Later a new store was built and green houses and other structures were added to enhance the first store.

And the garden center grows

In 2004 the garden center was moved to the 8142 Stoney Point Road location in Fayetteville NC.  Maxine retired and the store was then run by Kenny and his faithful staff.  Kenny continued to enlarge and add additional growing areas to the nursery.

In 2023, the Fayetteville 295 Outer Loop highway development included almost 2 acres of the Stoney Point location.  With this reduction in the size of property it was decided to sell the remainder of the land and move the garden center one more time to the current location at 4181 Barefoot Road.  This last move was a major undertaking.  The store was finally closed July 31, 2023 and the concentration was put on the final step and moving the remainder of greenhouses.

Click's Nursery Today

Our Open House held on April 13, 2024

Kenny has always been a farmer at heart and enjoys growing plants and gardens.   This last center included a space for his wife, Judy, to join in the garden center operation with gifts and floral arrangements.

Kenny and Judy are excited about the new location and look forward to helping gardeners and future gardeners with their projects.  Judy and Kenny have been blessed with dedicated staff throughout the years.  Currently, we have Pearla and Marta who have worked for the garden center for over 20 years. We all look forward to seeing you soon.

Remember… We are your “one stop garden shop” with all your gardening needs.
